Robotics Program ![]() History Lancer Robotics officially began in Spring 2007 when Sacred Hearts Academy's Principal, Betty White, decided to accept Hawaii Governor Lingle's challenge and incorporate FIRST Robotics into the curriculum. Mrs. White received help from Nancy Rocheleau, the original Robotics Coordinator, and Mr. Carl Debo, the original FRC Team Leader and members of the Math and Science Departments to create a core group to guide the new program. The FRC Team 2437 is currently comprised of approximately 35 student team members, thirteen faculty advisors, four parents (are part of other counts), two general mentors, and six engineers/machinist mentors. Visit Contact Team Page Lancer Robotics also includes two FLL teams: our returning junior high Team 4115, and our newest, 6th grade Team 4116. Unofficially, we also had a 4th grade team for FLL this year as well, shadowing their older sisters. All three FLL teams were mentored by the high school students from Team 2437 throughout the school year, and the summer. Additionally, the Lancer Robotics hosted a FLL regional on the Academy’s campus. (Visit FLL page. ) Both official Lancer Robotics FLL teams went to the state tournament in December 2009, with Team 4115 placing 12th. |
